RESOLUTION FOR MAINTENANCE OF STREETS AND HIGHWAYS BY
MUNICIPALITY UNDER THE ILLINOIS HIGHWAY CODE
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the

City Of McHenry , Illinois, that there is hereby

appropriated the sum of S c73 G 000 ' ODof Motor Fuel Tax funds for the purpose of maintaining
streets and highways under the applicable provisions of the Illinois Highway Code, from January 1, 1988
to December 81, 1988 Section 88-00000-00-GM
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that only those streets, highways, and operations as listed and described
on the approved Municipal Estimate of Maintenance Costs, including supplemental or revised estimates ap-
proved in connection with this resolution, are eligible for•maintenance with Motor Fuel Tax funds during the
period as spedfled above.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk shall, as soon as practicable after the close of the period
as given above, submit to the Department of Transportation, on forms furnished by said Department, a certified
statement showing expenditures from and balances remaining in the account(s) for this period; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk shall immediately transmit two certified copies of this
resolution to the district office of the Department of Transportation, at Schaumburg: , Illinois.

Illinois Department Maintenance Engineering to be
of Tran ortation Performed by a Consulting Engineer
(to be attached to Municipal Estimate
of Maintenance Costs. BLR 7302 (Rev. 3-84)
The services to be performed by the engineer, pertaining to the various items of work included in the es-
timated cost of maintenance operations, on form BLR 7302, shall consist of the items checked below:
PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING shall include:
Investigation of the condition of the streets; determination (in consultation with the
municipal officials) of the maintenance operations to be included in the maintenance
program; preparation of the maintenance resolution, estimate and proposal attending
such meetings of the governing body as may reasonably be required; attending the pub-
lic letting and preparing the contract or acceptance of proposal forms; and the prepara-
tion of the maintenance expenditure statement.
ENGINEERING SUPERVISION shall include:
Furnishing the engineering field supervision (including preparation of payment esti-
mates or checking material invoices) of those special maintenance operations requiring
professional supervision, as opposed to those ordinary operations such as street sweep-
ing, snow removal, tree trimming, crack filling, cleaning ditches and culverts, etc., which
require no professional supervision.
For furnishing these services the engineer will be paid in accordance with the following schedule of fees.
The fee for Preliminary Engineering shall be applied to the total estimated cost of all maintenance opera-
tions included in the maintenance estimate except Maintenance Engineering. The fee for Engineering
Supervision shall be applied to the final total cost of those maintenance operations to be supervised by
the engineer. Ten percent of the total fee will be withheld until such time as the expenditure statement is
submitted and the final cost of supervised items Is Known.
The engineer is hereby authorized and directed to sign the Municipal Esti-
mate of Maintenance Cost, form BLR-591-1 or BLR 7302 on behalf of the
Municipality.
