WHEREAS, F.I.S.H. (Friends in Service Here), is a group of volunteers
that has been serving the needs of others in the McHenry Area for fourteen
years; and
WHEREAS, F.I.S.H. provides a food pantry, holiday food baskets and
gifts of new clothing and toys to the needy; and
WHEREAS, F.I.S.H. also provides those less fortunate with
transportation for medical services, payment of prescriptions, the costs
of housing and utilities on an emergency basis, and many other goods and
services to those in need; and
WHEREAS, F.I.S.H. has served over 2,556 individuals in the community
over the past year alone; and
WHEREAS, F.I.S.H. has been directed under the capable leadership of
its co -coordinators, Bertha Stange and Joan Bauer for over thirteen years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
McHenry officially recognizes Joan Bauer for her devoted years of
unselfish dedication and service to F.I.S.H. and to the people of
McHenry. Through her tireless efforts to others and commitment to those
in need, McHenry has become a better place to live.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be incorporated into the
minutes of this meeting and that a copy be presented to Joan Bauer.
