WHEREAS, Elizabeth Nolan concluded three terms as Alderman of the
First Ward in the City of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, she has chosen not to seek re-election; and
WHEREAS, she has filled the office of Alderman efficiently and with
the welfare of the City uppermost in her mind; and
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Nolan has served on many committees during her
twelve years as alderman, and as Chairman of the Park Committee, was
instrumental in the planning of the Knox Park Development; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of McHenry owe a debt of gratitude to Liz for
her dedication in making McHenry a more beautiful place to live, since
she initiated and helped form the City of McHenry Beautification
Committee; and
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Nolan has spent countless hours personally
developing and planting the gardens around McHenry, thereby encouraging
residents and businesses to also take pride in their City and join the
Beautification Committee's efforts; and
WHEREAS, she remembered every Council member's special day with her
irresistable homemade treats, making one and all feel like family.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
McHenry go on record as recognizing the many contributions and
accomplishments of Elizabeth Nolan and expresses its appreciation and
gratitude on behalf of the citizens of McHenry.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be incorporated into
the minutes of this meeting and that a copy be presented to Elizabeth
Nolan.
