RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the residents of McHenry have been treated to enjoyable
summer "Concerts in the Park" by the McHenry City Band for over fifty
years; and
WHEREAS, Robert L. Freund (Bob) has been a member of the McHenry
City Band for 43 years, a number of those years serving as director; and
WHEREAS, Bob has devoted a great deal of his time and energy to
the McHenry City Band over the many years, not only to entertain at the
concerts, but also during the many hours of practice the Band requires;
and
WHEREAS, Bob has also dedicated a few extra hours each week as a
member of the "Dixieland Band", a well -liked segment within the McHenry
City Band; and
WHEREAS, Bob has utilized his God-given talent and expertise on
the trumpet to delight the hundreds of people who attend the weekly
concerts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of McHenry go on record as officially recognizing the contributions of
Bob Freund for his part in providing our community residents with 43
years of his delightful "sound of music" and expresses its heartfelt
appreciation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be incorporated into
the minutes of this meeting and that a copy be presented to Robert L.
Freund.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 19th day of July, 1989.
