R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the McHenry County Conservation District (MCCD) is applying
to the Illinois Department of Transportation under its Illinois
Transportation Enhancement Program for funding for bike path
development, and,
WHEREAS, the City has assisted the MCCD in routing this bike path
through the community within a section of its public right-of-ways,
Whispering Oaks Park and Brookside Parks, and,
WHEREAS, this bike trail development is the key North -South element
of the City of McHenry's proposed bike path masterplan,
WHEREAS, this bike trail will provide safe and scenic access to five
city parks and would be a tremendous recreational asset within our
community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council go on
record as supporting the MCCD in the application for grant assistance
for development of this regional bike path.
