RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry is applying to the State of Illinois
Department of Conservation under its OSLAD Program for a grant for the
purchase of the Mass Property, and,
WHEREAS, the City feels this would be a great addition to the City's
Park system, and,
WHEREAS, it would provide for additional recreational opportunities,
and provide additional lake frontage, and,
WHEREAS, it would control outfall and lake levels of McCullom Lake,
and,
WHEREAS, it would provide opportunities for equestrian uses,
ice-skating, additional fishing opportunities, direct connection to
the planned regional bike trail system, and expand existing parks and
rereation uses,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council go on
record as supporting this grant application which will greatly enhance
recreational activities and opportunities for the Citizens of the
McHenry area.
PASSED and APPROVED this 14th day of June, 1993.
