R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the McHenry Area Jaycees desire to hold their Annual
Christmas Parade on portions of Illinois Route 31 and Route 120 on Sunday,
November 14, 1993 between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 12:00 Noon; and
WHEREAS, said parade will require the closing, either partially or
completely, of Route 31 for one block between Main Street and Waukegan Road
and Route 120 for four blocks between Green Street and Riverside Drive in
the City of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois requires the City to assume all
responsibility and liability involved in the closing of said highways.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
McHenry, that said City will assume full responsibility for the direction,
protection and regulation of traffic during the time the detour is in effect
and all liabilities for damages of any kind occasioned by the closing of
said State Routes.
It is further agreed that efficient, all weather detours will be
maintained, conspicuously marked and judiciously Police -patrolled for the
benefit of traffic deviated from the State Routes.
