R E S O L U T I O N
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR
DESIGNATION AS A TREE CITY U.S.A. AWARD ADMINISTERED BY THE
NATIONAL ARBOR DAY FOUNDATION
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry wishes to submit an application
to the National Arbor Day Foundation for recognizing the City's
accomplishments to be recognized as a Tree City U.S.A.; and
WHEREAS, in order to submit such an application, the City
officially approved its submission and authorized the Mayor as Chief
Executive Officer and the Director of Parks and Recreation as the
forestry contact to sign the application forms, and execute all
appropriate documents to facilitate the filing of the application;
and
WHEREAS, in filing this application, the City understands the
rules and regulations set forth by the National Arbor Day
Foundation, with which the City will have to comply if the award is
to be bestowed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
City of McHenry that the Mayor and Director of Parks and Recreation
be authorized to sign the Tree City U.S.A. application and execute
other necessary documents to apply for this designation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage in accordance to law.
