RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, on August 17, 1994 Marilyn Hamilton, a resident of Whisperings Oaks,
presented her idea for a Children's Learning Garden to the McHenry City Council; and
WHEREAS, within a very short time thereafter, Marilyn's Learning Garden became
a reality for the young people of the City and helped them to become more familiar with
"Mother Nature" by planting, preserving and enjoying her gifts; and
WHEREAS, even though Marilyn is now leaving our fair City, the Learning Garden
that her idea created will bring many hours of enjoyment to the children of McHenry for
years to come; and
WHEREAS, she can look back with pride and satisfaction on a job well done; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and the residents of McHenry acknowledge and thank
Marilyn Hamilton for her contribution and hours of dedicated service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the
City of McHenry go on record as recognizing Marilyn Hamilton for her contribution of the
Children's Learning Garden and express their appreciation and admiration on behalf of the
citizens of McHenry.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be incorporated into the minutes
of this meeting and that a copy of this Resolution be presented to Marilyn Hamilton
PASSED AND APPROVED this 16th day of August, 1995.
