Police Chairman Sue Meyer called the meeting to order at 8:00 am Join Zoom Meeting per State Law
P.A. 100-0640(SB 2135) due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The following Commissioners were present, John Jones and Mike Roberts. Also present was Chief John
Birk, Deputy Chief Tom Walsh and Administrative Assistant Deb Shuett.
Public Comment
None.
1. Motion to Approve December 2, 2020 Meeting Report
Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to approve meeting minutes. John Jones, second by Mike
Roberts to approve the minutes from the December 2, 2020 Police Commission meeting as
presented. All ayes, motion carried.
2. Unfinished Business
Personnel:
Conditional job offer given to lateral candidate Joseph Lopez. Tentative start date is scheduled
for January 11th, 2021.
Conditional job offer given to lateral candidate Katherine Zajac. Tentative start date scheduled
for January 18th, 2021.
3. New Business
Police Officer Anthony Mucciante tenured his retirement paperwork. His last day will be January
22nd, 2021.
Background investigations have begun on candidates from the Police Officer Eligibility List. The
goal is to hire two candidates for the basic police academy starting in March 2021.

Polygraph Exam – Katherine Zajac
John Jones motion to approve bills, second by Mike Roberts. All ayes, motion carried.
5. Adjournment
Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to adjourn meeting, John Jones, second Mike Roberts to
adjourn the meeting at 8:06 AM. All ayes, motion carried.
