HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 05/05/2021 - Police Commission City of McHenry Board of Police Commissioners May 5, 2021 Police Chairman Sue Meyer called the meeting to order at 8:09 am in the Police Administration Conference Room with the following Commissioner present, Mike Roberts. Also present was Chief John Birk, Deputy Chief Tom Walsh and Administrative Assistant Deb Shuett. Absent John Jones. Public Comment None. 1. Motion to Approve April 7, 2021 Meeting Report Motion by Police Commissioner Mike Roberts to approve meeting minutes. Second by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to approve the minutes from the April 7, 2021 Police Commission meeting as presented. All ayes, motion carried. 2. Unfinished Business Personnel Update: Officer Katherine Zajac has completed the first three steps of the department’s Field Training Program and has been released to solo patrol. Officer Joseph Lopez is progressing through the department’s Field Training Program. Officer Luis Pena has resigned from the police department and transferred to the Arlington Heights Police Department. We will start a background investigation on a candidate from the Police Officer Eligibility List with the intention of them attending the basic police academy in September 2021. 3. New Business Sometime at next meeting will discuss recommendations for the Sergeants Examination written exam and have the test company approved. Take the test at the end of September and interviews to be conducted in October and then post the Sergeants list in November. 4. Communications The following bill(s) were presented for approval: None 5. Adjournment Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to adjourn meeting, second by Mike Roberts to adjourn the meeting at 8:20 am.
