NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry go on record as wholeheartedly supporting METRA and urging METRA to keep history and our train service alive, here in McHenry. UNANIMOUSLY PASSED and APPROVED this 29th day of May, 1996. City Caerk ( z,0 Mayor TO: City Council FROM: Steven J. Cuda, Mayor DATE: May 22, 1996 RE: METRA Train Service Today I received a phone call from Jeff Ladd, Chairman of METRA. As you may be aware, there is a proposal from Spring Grove to extend METRA service from Fox Lake to that community. According to Mr. Ladd, if that proposal is accepted, there is a good possibility that McHenry will lose its train service since METRA may not be able to support two spur lines in the County. Mr. Ladd suggested that the Council pass a resolution supporting train service to McHenry and that this resolution be delivered to his office as soon as possible. I will bring this matter up during my report at Wednesday's City Council meeting.
