HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - RS-96-20 - 10/30/1996 - Dedication of Busch-Knox propertyRESOLUTION RS - 96 - 20 WHEREAS, the City of McHenry is owner of 19.3 acres described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and, WHEREAS, this property was deeded to the City of McHenry for open space purposes as part of the April 25, 1996 Busch -Knox Annexation Agreement; and, WHEREAS, this property contains high and medium quality wetlands for which the City of McHenry seeks preliminary consideration for dedication as an Illinois Nature Preserve in accordance with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' recommendation; and, WHEREAS, the City of McHenry wishes to reinforce its commitment to provide a Bull Valley Arterial roadway for persons traveling in, out and through the City of McHenry; and, WHEREAS, this open space will provide travelers along the Bull Valley Arterial a brief respite; and, WHEREAS, the endangered plant and wildlife indigenous to the wetland area will be further protected. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry for and in consideration of the facts recited above, that the City of McHenry does dedicate the 19.3 acres of open space given to the City of McHenry by the Busch -Knox family, as a Nature Preserve. ✓ MAYOR ATTEST: CITY CLE K
