RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry is applying to the State of Illinois Department of
Natural Resources under Its OSLAD program for a development grant for Brookside Park;
and,
WHEREAS, the City feels the development of this donated property would be a
great addition to the City's Park System; and,
WHEREAS, the City has expended funds for the planning, site preparation and turf
establishment; and,
WHEREAS, this development would provide opportunities for a neighborhood play
site, shelter, and walking path; and,
WHEREAS, the development of four soccer fields, parking, and a
concession/washroom building will provide facilities for the successful and growing soccer
program In McHenry and surrounding communities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the
City of McHenry, Illinois go on record as supporting this grant application which will
greatly enhance recreational activities and opportunities for the citizens of the McHenry
area.
