HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - RS-97-11 - 03/19/1997 - Supporting Illinois Transportation BudgetRS-9 7-1 1 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the McHenry City Council recognizes the need for a quality State road system serving our community to ensure the economic vitality and the basic transportation needs of our citizens; and, WHEREAS, McHenry County is the fastest growing County in the State; and , WHEREAS, the McHenry County's growing business population greatly impacts traffic congestion in the County; and, WHEREAS, the County's current transportation system is not adequate to handle the swelling traffic congestion; and, WHEREAS, County and local municipal officials have an obligation to respond to the concerns of its business community and residents; and, WHEREAS, it is imperative that McHenry County's transportation system be enhanced to accommodate its growing industry; and, WHEREAS, the State of Illinois Transportation Budget for McHenry County has been reduced rather than increased lately. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of McHenry is strongly in support of an increase in the State of Illinois Transportation Budget for the County of McHenry, Illinois as soon as possible.
