CITY OF McRFMY
RESOLUTION
Supporting the Construction of the
McHenry County Prairie Trail Bike Path
from Crystal Lake to the Wisconsin State Line
WHEREAS, the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act
(ISTEA) has granted monies to be expended for the purpose of
construction and expansion of the McHenry County Prairie Trail Bike
Path from Crystal Lake to the Wisconsin State Line; and
WHEREAS, the McHenry County Conservation District supports the
construction of said bike path; and
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry is a participating agency inasmuch as
city -owned property would be transgressed by said bike path; and
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry actively promotes recreational,
sports, and tourism facilities for its residents and visitors to its
community; and
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry anticipates the expeditious
completion of the McHenry County Prairie Trail Bike Path for the
enjoyment and enhancement of its community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of
the City of McHenry hereby expresses its support of the completion of
the construction of the McHenry County Prairie Trail Bike Path from
Crystal Lake to the Wisconsin State Line.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be incorporated into
the minutes of this meeting and that a copy of this Resolution be
presented to Illinois Department of Transportation and the McHenry
County Conservation District
PASSED AND APPROVED this 10th day of September, 1997.
