RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry as expended great amounts of time, effort and monies
in securing the rights -of -way to facilitate the Bull Valley Road Arterial Highway construction;
and
WHEREAS, the County of McHenry is now prepared to begin the construction phase
of this new highway; and
WHEREAS, the Bull Valley Arterial Highway is being constructed as a bypass to
facilitate commercial traffic in circumventing downtown traffic in the City of McHenry and
to provide local residents with a means of utilizing the transportation network heretofore
established in McHenry County; and
WHEREAS, Charles J. Miller has selflessly given of his substance for the good and
welfare of the residents of the City of McHenry throughout his many years as a successful
local businessman and has never sought the recognition or accolades he so richly deserved;
and
WHEREAS, the McHenry City Council voted unanimously at its December 15, 1997
regularly scheduled Council Meeting to recognize Charles J. Miller for all of the efforts he
has expended on behalf of the residents of the City of McHenry.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the McHenry City Council unanimously
passes and approves this resolution encouraging the McHenry County Board to name the
Bull Valley Arterial Highway the "Charles J. Miller Memorial Highway".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the McHenry City Council recommends that the
McHenry County Board name the newly constructed Bull Valley Arterial Highway the
"Charles J. Miller Memorial Highway".
PASSED and APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY this 15th day of December, 1997.
