HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - RS-97-41 - 12/15/1997 - Earl R Walsh Memorial Bridge RecommendationRS-97-41 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of McHenry supported and encouraged McHenry County in the construction of the Bull Valley Bridge over the Fox River; and WHEREAS, the County of McHenry is now prepared to begin the construction phase of the Bull Valley Arterial Highway which will connect Route 31 to River Road; and WHEREAS, the Bull Valley Bridge is an integral part of this Arterial Highway ; and WHEREAS, Earl R. Walsh served as the City Clerk for the City of McHenry for 38 years and during that time never missed attending a single City Council Meeting and never sought the recognition or accolades he so richly deserved; and WHEREAS, the McHenry City Council voted unanimously at its December 15, 1997 regularly scheduled Council Meeting to recognize Earl R. Walsh for all of his years of dedicated service to the McHenry Community. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the McHenry City Council unanimously passes and approves this resolution encouraging the McHenry County Board to name the Bull Valley Bridge the "Earl R. Walsh Memorial Bridge". BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the McHenry City Council recommends that the McHenry County Board name the Bull Valley Bridge the "Earl R. Walsh Memorial Bridge".
