RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, President Len Duncan and his silent partner Nick Samaras started a small
transformer business called Lenco Electronics in the basement of Len's home; and
WHEREAS, the transformer business, Lenco Electronics, outgrew its allotted space
and in March of 1973 was established in a 7,300 square foot facility in Crystal Lake, Illinois;
and
WHEREAS, Lenco Electronics, due to its creative national sales staff continued to
expand and grow, and in 1978 moved into its present location in Tonyan Industrial Park in
McHenry, Illinois, with two full time shifts including 80 employees; and
WHEREAS, Lenco Electronics has paved the way in the transformer industry,
continues to grow and grosses more than $7 million dollars per year, and is hereby celebrating
its 25th Anniversary of successful business; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and the residents of McHenry acknowledge and
congratulate Lenco Electronics for its contributions and the recognition it brings to the City
of McHenry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the
City of McHenry go on record as recognizing Lenco Electronics on its 25th Anniversary for
contributions to the community and express their appreciation and admiration on behalf of
the citizens of McHenry.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be incorporated into the minutes
of this meeting and that a copy of this Resolution be presented to Len Duncan and Lenco
Electronics.
