WHEREAS, Janice C. Dalton was first elected as a write-in candidate to the Office of City of
McHenry City Clerk/Collector in 2001; was successfully reelected three times; and on April 30, 2017, will
have completed 16 years of honorable service to the City of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, during her 16 years as City Clerk, Janice has conscientiously and capably served the
City of McHenry and its citizens and has been dedicated to the highest principles of community service; and
WHEREAS, Janice demonstrated her dedication to the Illinois State Statutes, City of McHenry
Municipal Code, and outstanding organizational skills, and attention to detail; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, City Council, and City Employees have greatly benefitted from her
professional skills, compassion, and courteous and positive attitude during her years of service to the
community; and
WHEREAS, Janice has acted in all matters with the welfare of the City uppermost in her mind and
can look back with pride on her numerous contributions and accomplishments while serving our community
honorably for sixteen years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the McHenry City Council recognizes the many
contributions and accomplishments of City Clerk Janice C. Dalton and expresses its appreciation and
gratitude to her on behalf of the citizens of McHenry and that this Resolution be incorporated into the
minutes of this meeting and that a copy be presented to Janice C. Dalton.
