A RESOLUTION RENAMING AND DEDICTING THE BAND SHELL/GAZEBO IN
VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK IN HONOR OF BOB "BEEF" FREUND IN THE
CITY OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the City Council from time to time will honor individuals from the City of
McHenry who have contributed significantly to the City of McHenry or our society in general
through cultural, historical or humanitarian acts; and
WHEREAS, in view of his 56 years as a member of the McHenry City Band and 13 years
as McHenry City Band Director, founding member of Fireball 8 Dixieland Band; member of the
U.S. Marine Corps; and continued service to his hometown of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the evidence and recommendation and
wishes to recognize the efforts of Bob "Beef' Freund by renaming and dedicating the Band
Shell/Gazebo in Veterans Memorial Park in his honor; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
The Band Shell/Gazebo in Veterans Memorial Park shall be renamed and dedicated in
honor of Bob "Beef Freund.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the McHenry City Council and it Mayor wish to express
deep gratitude to Bob "Beef' Freund and this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after the date of its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
