WHEREAS, Gary Gough was hired in 1978 by the City of McHenry Public
Works Department Streets Division, moved to the Wastewater Division is 1979, and transferred
to the Water Division in 1982; and
WHEREAS, he was promoted to City of McHenry Public Works Water Division
Superintendent in 1987; and
WHEREAS, he has played a significant role in spearheading and assisting the City
of McHenry in its mission to reduce the iron level in municipal water supply; and
WHEREAS, he has overseen growth in the City of McHenry Water Division to
a fulltime Staff of six employees, and the design, location, construction and operation of one
additional water plant and three wells; and
WHEREAS, he has watched the number of City of McHenry water accounts grow
from 2,125 in 1982 to the present account total of 5,925; and
WHEREAS, he is known for his warmth, care, compassion, and willingness to be
of assistance to Staff, Council and the community -at -large; and
WHEREAS, he can look back with pride on his service, loyalty and dedication to
the citizens of the McHenry Community after 22 years of faithful service.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the McHenry City Council go on
record as recognizing the twenty-two years of contributions and accomplishments of Crary Gough
and expresses its appreciation and gratitude on behalf of the citizens of McHenry.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be incorporated into the
minutes of this meeting and that a copy be presented to Gary Gough.
